Summary
Contemporary invites visitors of all ages to a poetry workshop and reading facilitated by Jim LaVilla-Havelin and Alexandra Gilliam. This workshop is Inspired by the Contemporary’s Mini Art Museum exhibition, in memory of art educator Mary Cantu.
Participants are encouraged to bring a small object filled with family memories to use as inspiration to write poems, objects will be photographed, and prints will be made available for workshop project.
Join us as we explore images and objects in words and pictures, reflect on what objects mean to us, how to see some everyday objects in a new light, and how cherished objects hold memories.
This workshop will. include a poetry reading of Pablo Neruda’s Ode to things
